They adopt practical, experiential, hands-on training methods in their programs such as taking students for site visits to companies, shopping malls, and restaurants, encouraging them to explore what professions they would like to pursue. In the last two weeks of the program, AIMS IT placement team works closely with the students to create their resumes, prepare them for job interviews and connect them with several corporations. AIMS IT useful connections with important companies greatly facilitate the ability to find the most appropriate jobs for students in industries such as hospitality, retail and education. Some of the companies the students are placed in include Reliance Retail, Airtel, Vodafone, Computer Dell Service center, HCL Service Center etc...
Despite its best efforts, KME faces challenges. The primary challenge is low community awareness of vocational training in urban Karnataka. Though skills development is a priority for the central government, support and awareness of the purpose and impact of such training on under-served communities and on the industry remains low.
The Aim of KME is to help the poor and under privileged sections of society, provide social security, development of the area, contribute
towards State & National progress and to spread awareness and get the backward sections of the society their rights and privileges by
helping them raising their standard of living. For achieving this Aim the NGO is helping the poor children in acquiring education,
making them aware about health, hygiene and their rights and duties so that they are brought to the main stream of the society.
Unemployment is big issue of our state & country, In keeping with this focus, our board members conducted a training Division titled AIMS Institute of Technology where we are providing all the Job Oriented Short Term Courses, JOB Professional Courses, Vocational Training & Coaching classes to our needy minority students who unable to spend extra money for such educational skill programs to enhance their skill & knowledge to get perfect & good employment. We are executing these programs in Free / Fees Concessional schemes.
Conducting free / concessional educational programs/ projects has formed the core of KME's activities till now. KME raising funds for its project in a number of ways: individual donations, corporate donations, sale of merchandise (T-shirts, calendars, mugs, greeting cards, etc.).
Some KME chapters also work towards raising awareness in appropriate forums about various issues affecting the people of Karnataka. This awareness-raising is accomplished by organizing discussion series, invited talks and study groups.
In the future, KME hopes to continue playing an important role in the socio-economic development of India. KME vision is outlined below:
Since from two years, KME has succeeded in touching the lives of many of students in Bijapur, Belgaum city & Sindagi Taluka by providing educational & social activities. However, we also realize that there is still a lot to be achieved since there are millions of minority candidates in Karnataka who do not have access to basic education. Debates and discussions are now underway among the board members about ways in which we can make a greater impact on the situation. As part of this learning process, we are undertaking projects to evaluate our efforts over the past decade. In the end, we hope to be able to better understand the impact we have had, and where we should focus our efforts.
All said and done, the future holds even more significant challenges for all of us as a people. It is more important than ever that every concerned person pool in his efforts and start working towards addressing these challenges. We, the board members of KME, believe that we are upto these challenges that the future holds for us.
Like many urban areas today, Anywhere in City is faced with the challenge of creating a public education system that addresses the unique needs of inner - city students. In our city, there are many hurdles for at-risk children to overcome on the path to receiving a good education and creating better lives for themselves.
